The other day, Krystyna Janda, wrote a piece
About Marie Curie without giving her name
And how the scientist fell in love with radium,
The element that eventually killed her.
I felt the piece was stressing only the negative side
So I reacted with a reply saying
That my great uncle, Dionizy Zuberbier,
Before having been killed in Katyń,
Was working on a research with radium
Hoping to use it as a cure for cancer.
But yesterday my brother, like Janda an actor,
Told me that a female Hungarian director of films,
Marta Maszaros, planned for the actress
To play M. Curie-Sklodowska which made me happy
That a Great Pole would play a Great Pole, and so on.
I therefore wrote to the actress expressing my joy
That it would not only be for her an amazing experience
But also would make it possible for her,
And the talent she has,
Become well known on the world stage.
I posted it to her quoting also Shakespeare’s
Lines on the subject and mentioned that my family has
Swiss and Hungarian roots, imbued with, among others, artistic traits.
Krystyna Janda replied to me saying
That being a mutt might give one great strength
And sent all her best wishes to me and my family.

I do think that Krystyna Janda is quite an extraordinary person
Not only because of her talent, but while being a mother,
She manages to run a couple of theatres,
Appear in all kinds of venues and still finding time
To reply to each wrting to her fan.
