What Are Alternatives To Google
Today, the majority of searches on the Internet are conducted via Google. Google has a market share of greater than 80percent in many countries. But who are its biggest competitors today? What other alternatives are available to search the Internet to find information? We will examine the advantages and limitations of two different search engines. Google.com for an example.
Microsoft's Bing Search Engine
Microsoft's Bing Search Engine is the most well-known alternative to Google. Both search engines are visually quite similar. Their search engine results provide information about every result (a title and an explanation) in addition to an hyperlink to the search result itself. There are also facts of interest in some searches by making use of the panels located on the right side of the navigation. Bing also offers vertical search engines, which allow users to locate specific types of content like images, news, and videos. They can be found on separate pages or in the main search engine result page. Google has been criticised for showing YouTube videos in prominent positions within video searches, but this has not been an issue for Bing. Bing is, like Google, analyses user behaviour. It keeps track of the queries of users and the results they click. This gives Bing the ability to display targeted ads directly within its results for searches. Bing can also offer personalised ads within its Windows operating system.
Duckduckgo Search Engine
DuckDuckGo is a possible alternative to Google. When you start a search, DuckDuckGo performs the search for you. DuckDuckGo will then pull the results from Bing and display results to you in your web browser. This engine will not make direct contact with you. Bing is not able to access private information like your IP address or location. DuckDuckDuckGo also displays ads in its search results. It is however unable to serve personalized advertisements since the US search engine doesn't gather any information about users. If you search the term "holidays", the engine will only return ads related to the keyword phrase or keyword you searched. Because it has made the choice not to collect any other information about the user, it isn't allowed to utilize that information. Bing as well as Google are, in our opinion, very alike. Your personal preference will decide which search engine you would prefer. DuckDuckGo is our top choice since it lets us remain totally anonymous.
